At the conference, entitled “From reinventing money to redefining the role of banks: the contribution of law”, Dr Dan-Adrian Cărămidariu presented “When the deposit no longer stays put: reflections on the digital representation of value in banking relationships”. He examined the transformation brought about by digital financial instruments and its impact on the legal nature of bank deposits.
The presentation examined how new digital representations of value affect relationships between credit institutions and clients, highlighting the legal challenges of redefining traditional banking law concepts. It also discussed the implications for financial stability and the role of banks in a changing economy.
Participation reflects our continuing commitment to critically examining developments in financial and banking law and integrating new technological realities into the conceptual framework of traditional legal institutions.
